The 48th session of the Kuwait International Book Fair opened Wednesday, with the participation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the patronage of the Prime Minister, and the attendance of the Minister of Information and Youth Affairs, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and a group of cultural and literary figures from the Arab world.
Our country's embassy in Kuwait is participating in this session by showcasing dozens of titles and publications in the fields of Iranology, Islamic knowledge, the Persian language, and other cultural and artistic topics, in Arabic and Persian.
A total of 611 publishing institutions from 33 countries are participating in the 48th session of the Kuwait Book Fair, where 287,000 book titles are on display.
On the sidelines of the fair, which is considered—after the Beirut fair—the oldest book fair in the Arab world, several events are being held, including lectures, photo exhibitions, and literary seminars.
The Kuwait Book Fair will continue for ten days at the permanent exhibition venue in the country.
