Iran Kuwait FMs stress Gaza genocide should immediately stop

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met and held talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in Geneva on Wednesday. Amirabdollahian expressed satisfaction with the fresh meeting with the Kuwaiti foreign minister and praised the supportive stance by the Arab country’s government parliament and people towards Palestine.

He underscored the significance of continuing talks between the two countries at different levels, describing them as important and effective in expanding the ties between the two countries. The Iranian foreign minister re-extended an invitation to his Kuwaiti counterpart to visit Tehran. Amirabdollahian pointed out that a summit of the Islamic and Arab countries in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, was an important meeting on Palestine, saying the effective measures should continue in order to stop the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza. He also slammed the United States for its full support for the Zionist regime, stating that Washington is in practice one side of the war against Gaza and has exploited its resources to support the Zionist regime despite frequently sending messages to the other parties in the region to ask for restraint. The top Iranian diplomat reiterated that the Zionist regime has failed to achieve any of its declared goals in the Gaza strikes, adding the Zionist regime is mulling plans to displace the people in the besieged territory. He explained that the regime is pursuing the large-scale slaughter of the people in the north and south of Gaza and the complete blockade of the enclave, and also is imposing the maximum pressure on the people in the West Bank to force them move to the neighboring countries. The Iranian foreign minister demanded the Islamic states provide extensive support for the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank and send them massive humanitarian aid, and stop the Zionist regime’s expansionist and sinister goals. For his part, Al-Sabah praised the joint efforts by Iran and Kuwait to promote bilateral ties. He reiterated that the Kuwaiti government’s stance in support of the Palestinian nation and creation of a Palestinian state in the Palestinian territories is steadfast and will never change. Al-Sabah also stressed that the Kuwaiti government’s efforts to send humanitarian aid to Gaza will continue. He further underlined the need to stop the Israeli regime from following up on its expansionist schemes and force it to stop the attacks on Gaza and establish a truce. During the meeting, some issues of mutual concern in the bilateral ties were raised and both sides expressed their views.
