Iran FM praises Kuwait for pro-Palestine stance
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has commended the position of the parliament and the government of Kuwait in supporting the oppressed Palestinian nation.
Amir-Abdollahian’s praise-worthy remarks came during his meeting on Sunday with the head of a parliamentary friendship group who was leading a delegation to Tehran.
During the meeting, Iran’s top diplomat also assessed the current developments in the Gaza Strip and highlighted the continued Israeli bloodshed of the defenseless Palestinians, including women and children in the besieged territory.
“Although the Zionist enemy has destroyed Gaza on a large scale and martyred tens of thousands of people there, it has failed to achieve any of its goals and therefore resorting to blind terrorist acts to compensate for its defeat”, Amir-Abdollahian noted.
Marzouq AlـHubaini, head of the Kuwait-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, also hailed Tehran for its stance on defending the rights of the Palestinians and supporting their cause. “As a Muslim and Arab country, we respect the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran”, he said.
Amir-Abdollahian and AlـHubaini also discussed other regional issues and bilateral relations, emphasizing the need for prioritizing mutual cooperation by the parliaments of the two countries.
"The parliamentary and people-to-people relations between the two countries is the strongest pillar for the continuation of bilateral relations, so our first priority has been the expansion of parliamentary friendship with Iran’s Majlis (parliament)", Al-Habini stated.
Ebrahim Rezaei, the head of the Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group was also present in the meeting hosted by the Iranian foreign minister
