Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian met with his Kuwaiti peer on the sidelines of the Geneva talks.

Amirabollahian extended the warm regards of the Iranian president to the emir of Kuwait and its prime minister in the meeting.

While referring to his previous visit to Kuwait, Amirabdollahian said that due to the strong commonalities between the two neighboring countries, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand its relations with Kuwait in all fields.

Amirabdollahian emphasized that Iran is prepared to make the joint mechanisms of both countries more active, including the Iran-Kuwait joint commission, as well as consular and border committees.

The top Iranian diplomat expressed concern over the complex situation in Palestine and described the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip as catastrophic.

He also noted that the US talk of trying to reduce the intensity of the war instead of a ceasefire serves as a green light for the Zionist regime to continue killing Palestinians.

Also, pointing to Iran's proposal to hold an emergency meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s members, he voiced hope this meeting would lead to a collective action to end the genocidal war of the Zionist regime against Palestinians.

The Iranian foreign minister also invited his Kuwaiti counterpart to visit Iran.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister, for his part, expressed pleasure with the meeting and gave the greetings of the emir of Kuwait to the leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution and the Iranian president.

He then said that Kuwait welcomes the expansion of relations with Iran and that this is one of Kuwait's priorities.

The Kuwaiti official noted that his country is ready to activate all the joint committees of the two countries.

While describing the expansion of trade ties with Iran as very important, he further stressed the need for a joint meeting of the delegations of Iran and Kuwait for this purpose.

The top diplomat of Kuwait also thanked Amirabdollahian for inviting him to visit Tehran and noted that he is willing to make the trip at a time agreed upon by both sides.

In the meeting, Kuwait's foreign minister outlined his country's views and efforts to end the war against Gaza and to send humanitarian aid to the Palestinians.

Some issues of mutual interest were also discussed in the meeting.

Amirabdollahian and his Kuwaiti counterpart reaffirmed their readiness to continue meetings and consultations.
